The Montréal Pipes and Drums (the MPD) were formed in July, 2000, by former Pipe Major Jordon Anderson. Since then, they have played in countless parades, festivals and celebrations including the Grey Cup Pre-Game show, the annual Montréal Saint Patrick's Day parade, and the North American Championships competition. In 2002, at only their fourth competition, the band won first place at the Montréal Highland Games competitions in grade four. Since 2009, the MPD have been under the direction of Jenna Dennison.
